Biography

Jesse received his MFA from Alfred University (2005) and his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute(1997). He has shown at the Daum Museum, Sedalia, MO, Leedy-Voulkos Art Space, Kansas City, The Belger Arts Center, Kansas City and the Schein-Joseph Museum, Alfred, NY. His work often addresses the grown and decay of objects in society. “Flybling” is meant to be solid, structural, yet growing and organic. There are often elements of humor laced throughout his work, like the speech bubbles and gold graffiti on this piece.

Jesse is currently an artist in residence in China in Jingdezhen, the city where porcelain was originally invented more than 1000 years ago.
